Beauty Tutorial: Korean Skincare Routine Part 2

Salam and hello dearies!

Okay, this is the second part of Korean Skincare Routine. Please read it because this routine may help to maintain your skin from ageing before time. Hehehe...

Step 5: Essence

In Korea and Japan, treatment essence is considered as the most important part in maintaining skin health. Unlike European treatment essence which has liquidy consistency, Korean and Japanese treatment essence is almost like a plain water (imagine SK II essence). The essence has smaller molecules than moisturiser or serum which helps the skin to absorb the benefits faster in to the skin cells. Trust me, by adding treatment essence in your daily routine can help you skin a lot. My personal favourite essence is The Face Shop Smim Fermentation Treatment Essence. This essence has almost similar composition as SK II but with a cheaper price. I really love this product. I can see the difference in my skin after using it for a week (I will update on my progress).

Step 6: Ampoule (a.k.a Serum)

Unlike treatment essence, ampoule a.k.a serum has liquidy consistency. Serum contains high concentration of certain active ingredients and each ingredient may focus on specific skin problem. For example, if you want a bright skin, you may choose ampoule that contains Vitamin C, or if you want to reduce your fine lines, you can choose ampoule with hyaluronic acid. When applying the ampoule on your face, you can mix the ampoules together and make a cocktail serum. These combinations can serve you skin problems at the same time. Right now I'm using Nature Republic Snail Treatment Ampoule and also The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth. Seriously, they are amazing.

Step 7: The Sheet Masks (twice per week)

Wearing sheet masks is like a weekly activities that Korean do a lot (I watched many K-Dramas). In Korea, there are many brands that sell sheet masks, hydrogel masks and so on. These masks have different ingredients just like ampoule. By wearing face mask twice a week, it can help to boost your skin health and beauty. This is because, face masks force your skin to absorb the nutrients before they dry. I have more than 100 pieces of face masks right now and these are from different brands and ingredients. I use face mask at least twice per week in order to maintain my skin (I have acne prone skin). Oh, other than face mask, there are also eye, lips and chin masks.

Step 8: Eye Cream

Due to workload and too much staring at the computer or handphone screen, it can cause your eyes to get tired easily. When your eyes are tired, it will cause a dark circle and puffiness around your eyes. It's not a good sign and can make you look older. Huhuhu. So, don't forget to apply eye cream twice a day. It is important for you to use the right technique when applying the eye cream. Put a drop of eye cream on your index finger and gently tap the cream around your eyes. REMEMBER, don't use the slide motion because it can cause your eyes to sag even more. Just tap lightly. I'm currently using The Face Shop Chia Seed Watery Eye Spot. This product is good to retain the moisture around my eyes.

Step 9: Moisturiser

Well, were are almost there. Hehehe. Next you can apply moisturiser on your skin. Moisturiser acts like a water bank on your skin. It helps to maintain your skin moisture so that even if you are exposing under the sun, your skin will not lose its moisture easily. As for me, I prefer moisturiser that has water based rather than oil based. This is because, it will not make my skin feel oily and cakey after I apply make up. My personal choice is The Face Shop Chia Seed Watery Lotion. It absorbs easily and my skin doesn't even feel anything after applying it.

Step 10: Night Cream

Just like moisturiser, night cream acts to maintain your skin moisture when you sleep at night. Usually, night cream also has the ingredients that can help to repair and renew your skin after all the exposure.

Step 11: Sleeping Mask

Okay, I promise this is the last step. Hehehe... This is the additional step that will do good to your skin. Unlike other masks, you apply sleeping mask at the end of your skincare routine which is right before you go to sleep. I'm still not sure the function of applying sleeping mask but my personal favourite is The Face Shop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask. This mask smells nice. I love it.

Alright, that's all. If you follow these steps (including the Part 1 too), I can ensure you your skin will be glowing and stay beautiful like the Korean actresses. The key to have a good skin is not be lazy. It may cost you some time to used to it but I'm sure it will be worth it.

p/s ~ I've been following these steps for almost two weeks now and I can see the difference in my skin.

pp/s ~ I have a lot of The Face Shop products because I used to like the brand ambassador, Kim Hyun Joong. Hihihi...

Till I write again!

Beauty Tutorial: Korean Skincare Routine Part 1

Salam and hello dearies!

Have you ever wonder how Korean celebrities (regardless male of female) have flawless skin? I've always envy at their flawless skin. Every time I watch Korean dramas, I look closely to their face and as I expected, there is no single pimple or flaw on their faces. How can even possible? Look at these Korean actresses below. I purposely took their photos with less make up to prove my point (not an editorial or photoshoot photo).

Song Hye Kyo - she's known for her natural beauty.

Park Shin Hye - she's been acting since young and her face doesn't change.

Kim So Eun - flawless face!

Then I did my research. Hehehe... I found that Koreans really take a good care of their skin. They have about 10 STEPS to ensure their skin are fully moisturised and pampered. Huhuhu. They even do these steps TWICE a day! Gosh! I think it will take me a long time to get ready if I really follow the steps. But, for the sake of my face and the possibility to have a flawless skin, I'm willing to follow these steps twice a day, everyday (so I need to wake up early apparently). Huhuhu...

Step 1: Removing the Make Up

This is a the most important step of all because if you don't remove your make up properly, it can cause your pores to clog and produce pimples. It's not good, right? During this step, it is important for you to choose the right make up remover. The best make up remover is oil-based remover. The oil helps to melt the make up easily and at the same time moisturise your skin. Don't use cotton pads during this process. Just use your fingertips and massage your face gently in circular motion. My two favourite make up removers are Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil and The Face Shop Rice Water Bright.

Please excuse the grammar. Hehehe...

Step 2: Cleansing

After you remove your make up, it's time to wash your face. For this process, you can use any type of cleanser that suits your skin type. Either a cream or gel type, both work well as long as you use it accordingly. Similarly to the first step, you need to massage your face in circular motion using your fingertips. This process is believed can help to improve your blood circulation and thus help to brighten your skin too! Hehehe... Oh, I've watched a video about cleanser before. In the video, the dermatologist mentions that you don't have to spend so much money on cleanser because it will not be absorbed into your skin. Just buy a normal one that suits your skin.

Step 3: Exfoliate (1/2 per week)

Every day our skin renew the cells and the dead cells sometimes don't come off easily. That's why we need to exfoliate out skin at least once a week. By exfoliatting our face, we can remove the dead skins, dirts and clogs easily. However, the most important thing is to choose the right exfoliator. Don't choose the one with harsh chemicals that can make your skin thinner. Select the natural option one. My personal favourite exfoliator is from Tony Moly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel. This exfoliator is not only remove my dead skins but also helps to brighten my skin too. I really love it.

Step 4: Toner

The next step is toner. Before this, I wasn't really aware that toner is crucial in making my skin stays healthy and glowing. Yes I'm used to apply toner on my skin after cleansing because my mum asked me to. I think that's why my skin still look radiant until now. Hehehe... Okay, why is important to use toner? According to Today.com, toner helps to shrink pores, makes your skin pH balance, add a layer of protection from impurities and contaminations, moisturise your skin, helps to prevent ingrown hair and at the same time can refresh your skin too. But make sure to choose the right toner. My personal selection so far are The Face Shop Chia Seed Water 100 and Etude House Moistfull Collagen Facial Freshner. These toners help to lock the moisture perfectly well.

That's all for today. Insya Allah I will continue tomorrow. Hihihi

Till I write again!
